Fixing Your Hope on Future Grace

1 Pet. 1:13 - "Therefore, preparing your minds for action, and being sober-minded, set your hope fully on the grace that will be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ."

I've seen a lot of different things get hammered into place. Wood framing, nails put into walls for hanging pieces of art, people's ill-positioned fingers, etc.

In this passage, God tells his people to nail/set/fix their hope on the future grace they will receive at the return of Jesus. The blessing of having our hope focused on that future moment of grace is that it helps us weather the current turbulent circumstances we find ourselves in.

The degree of hope that we must fix on that day is all of it. "Set your hope fully on the grace that will be brought..." We have to commit all of our hope to the grace of that day, no less.

What is your hope set on? What do you live for? What day are you ultimately looking forward to? Anything other than the gracious salvation we will receive on the day of Christ will fail to compare. Instead, set your hope fully on the grace Christ will bring.
